This Meditation Certification and Personal Development Course approaches meditation in a modern practical way, with its foundations taken directly from yoga theory and texts. The tools of yoga provide us the road map to access the innermost wonder and power within. Each module will focus on specific concepts to provide both the foundation and the skills to apply meditation. The entire course will help you better understand the concepts of yoga and Ayurveda to better understand your mind and you will learn how to incorporate meditation for yourself and/or in a group setting.
Is this course for you?
The modules and the certificate course are open to all interested and eager meditation practitioners, yoga/meditation students and yoga teachers looking to develop a deeper meditation practice and expand their knowledge of yogic philosophy and psychology. This course will also provide a knowledge base for teachers who wish to incorporate meditation practices for their students. Each course will cover yoga theory, large and small group discussion, reflection exercises, and meditation practices. The course also includes take-home notes and practices.
Meditation and the Mind: Theory and Practice
In this module we will explore the science and concepts of meditation, building our practice from the traditional texts of yoga and we will also cover the model of the mind in yoga and how to recognize the states of the mind. The elements of a productive meditation practice will round out the day.

Meditation and the Energy Body: Moving Prana to Thrive
The body is energy and the tools of yoga and meditation have the ability to make changes to improve the individual’s perception and experience. This module will take us through the energy body system according to yoga and Ayurveda. We will also begin to learn about mudra, kriya and how prana moves.
- Energy Body System – Nadi, Marma, Chakra,
- Pancha Maya Kosha (layers of being) model

Meditation and Ayurveda: Paths of Knowing and Balance
Ayurveda or the medical science of yoga holds many concepts and theories we apply in our yoga and meditation practices. We will explore the concepts of the dosha and the gunas and continue the exploration of the layers of being or the Kosha Model of yoga.

Meditation and Inner Strength: Digging Deeper
Yoga and meditation are powerful tools to overcome the thoughts and patterns that bind the individual. In this module we will navigate the concept of suffering and our innermost patterns that lead to behaviours and patterns of action, reaction and perceptions. Thriving and living your best life is a goal of yoga and we will explore the coverings of our spirit and apply tools to slowly uncover our best selves.
- Causes of suffering and the obstacles of the mind
- Concepts of Vasana (impression) and Samsara (habit)
- The concepts of Abhyasa (practice) and Vairagya (detachment)
- Exploring Mantra
How the course is structured?
The course is organized into 4 independent, 8 hour modules which can be taken in any order. The modules are available on a rotating schedule throughout the year and open to all passionate individuals who wish to develop knowledge and skills. You are encouraged and welcomed to enroll in one, or all of the modules.
If you wish to receive a 40 hour Meditation Training Certificate through Yoga Alliance and their continuing education program, the requirements are as follows;
- Complete all four modules within 2 years;
- Submit the course assignment;
- Attendance and assignment approved as complete by Kimberly Mantas.
As an individual without the Yoga Alliance membership and a Yoga Alliance recognized 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certification, the 40 hour Meditation Certificate can be awarded under all the same requirements as above, however, it is not eligible to be registered with Yoga Alliance.
